1,2,3,4, I declair a Toe War?

What do you do on a boring day at home??? Well, toe wars of course!

The girls were a bit bored this morning and were inventing things to do for fun. Among those, toe wars. It was very funny to watch. We were all laughing pretty hard. I love having daughters that are so close!

School Christmas Parties

This year, Bobby and I were both able to attend the girls school parties. It was nice and made the girls feel really special to have us both there.

Kendall's classroom had hot chocolate, and snow cones, decorating a candy bucket, making ornaments, candy, and bobbing for apples.....in popcorn! It was a lot of fun and really cute to watch the kids try so hard to get there apple.

Kaylen's class was a little more laid back. They made tiny gift baskets that held potpourri, had some cookies, and played Bingo with Hershey's kisses. They had a good time too.

Land of Lights

The girls really like looking at Christmas lights, and this year we got to take a trip with the Fullers and Christopher to the Land of Lights at Lake Rudolph. Kaylen, Kendall and Christopher all took turns reading the story that lead us along the path. It was so cute to hear them. They were all very good readers!

After the lights show, we headed out to Santa's Candy Castle. This was a first for us. We had some hot chocolate and the kids got to play with some fake snow before heading outdoors to try some chestnuts they roasted over an open fire. Kaylen was the only one that liked them. Everyone else thought they were pretty gross.

It was a lot of fun. A big thanks to Me'Chele for the pictures! (Sometimes, I feel like she's my personal photographer.) Love ya girl!

Snow-Ice Day: No School!

Because of the ice and snow we got last night, the girls were confined to the house most of the day. I'm sure most kids love winter snow days, but today I think Kendall must be over the whole 'cold' thing. She drew me this picture of Florida. I couldn't help but smile and giggle a little bit. I gave her a high-5 and told her I liked the way she thought. Come on summer time!!!!

Miss Kendall Noelle

Kendall LOVES music. She loves to listen to music, dance to music, and she loves to sing it too! She heard Happy Birthday Jesus by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir last year and worked very hard to be able to sing it alone with the soundtrack. She was so excited. She got a little nervous before we headed to church, but acted like a pro when she was called to come up to the Alter. I am so incredibly proud of her. She has a great heart and is often trying to help others. (She gets it from her Daddy, I must admit!) She truly has the love of Jesus in her heart. Watch out world. You ain't seen nothing yet!!!

Women's Ministry Christmas Party

I am really excited about all the things to come with our women's group! Our church has been going through a tough growing period, and we are now reaping all that has been sewn. I'm thankful for all the sisters I can count on for prayer and uplifting.

We had a TON of food this year. Pizza and breadsticks, and desserts galore. Who can follow a strict diet plan at a party????? I tried more than one treat, I will admit!

We had our annual ornament exchange, followed by the white elephant gifts. I'm always surprised at all the beautiful ornaments that are there. So many different styles and tastes. I love seeing everyone's personalities come out.

The white elephant exchange was hilarious!!!! I think we all agreed that the mannequin head won first prize. However, cat balls (toys that is), a blue duck, and a dead woman's jewelry were all top listers as well. We ended the evening playing a new game. You drew words out of a hat, and then on the spot had to sing a Christmas song that had that word in it. It's harder than you might think! We mixed it up after a while and made people sing as different characters. Such as Johnny Cash, Elvis, Bugs Bunny, and Barney just to name a few. It's been a while since I laughed that hard, for so long. Thanks for a great evening ladies!

The Years First Snow

This year, our first snow actually happened while we were visiting family in Bloomington for Thanksgiving. The girls were in a little bit of disbelief at first. They had to go out and touch the snow with Daddy. While there, Bobby left me a sweet note in the snow. I had to snap a picture of it!

Thanksgiving!

This year we were able to head to Bloomington to be with the Scrogham side of our family for Thanksgiving. It usually works out in a way that we stick around our hometown until closer to Christmas. It was a nice change this year. Things were really busy with making food, and keeping tables cleared and so forth that I just sent the girls off with our camera to capture some of the craziness. I love how they just caught everyone in there natural personalities. No posing here! Of course they had to take one of the turkey as well. Ha, ha!

Yee-Haw!

The entire 2nd grade put on a square dance for all the parents to see, and I gotta say.....It was the cutest thing ever! Kaylen has so much fun because she just LOVES to dance. I guess it doesn't matter what style! She was flingin' her hat, and shakin' her booty, and stoppin' those heals. We were sure to get there early to get a good seat, and we picked just the right spot. Her 'square partners' where the closest group to us. Kendall even got to come in and watch!

Kaylen loved dressing up in the cowgirl getup. I don't think her partner (Jake Worschieb) was as thrilled, but he was very gracious in letting us snap a picture. Can I get a Yee-Haw?!?!

My Half-Pint is growing up!

When the girls got home from school today, the first thing on the agenda was to clean their rooms. They went straight to work (thank you Lord for no arguments!) and made me so proud. Isn't wasn't very long before Kaylen came to me and said, "Mommy, I don't want you and Daddy to tuck me in bed anymore. I just wanna do it myself from now on."

Ok, so I've known this day would eventually come but I was prepared for it when she was 11, or 12. I could handle the thought of it when she was knocking on the door of her teen years, but at 8? Inside, my whole body was taking a deep, gasping breathe, and I wanted to say, (in my sappy over exaggerated mommy voice) "I don't think so. You're my BAAAABBBBBYY!!!!" However, I stood calmly, and simply said, "Okay." I waited a moment and added, "We can try that."

I'll be all too ready to jump back into tucking her in. You know, if she decides she's not so ready for it after all. :)

Crazy Kenny!

Over the past few weeks, Bobby and I have been preparing the girls for Christmas. Asking them what types of gifts they are hoping for, singing songs, and quizzing them about the true meaning of Christmas. They have become more and more excited about the Holiday's. Tonight during dinner, we were once again discussing Christmas when I asked them, "Do you know how many gifts Jesus received on his Birthday?" Kaylen chimed in quickly with, "Yes, 3. Gold, and silver???? and........"

That's when Kendall jumped in to save the day. She hollered, "And a Camel!"

I see we still have a bit of 'refreshing' to do about the day of Jesus' birth!

Family Photo Session

This year I was determined to get some family photo's done. We've severly neglected that area of our lives for much too long! Our friend Me'Chele, who is extremely talented in photography, took us out for a couple hours of photo fun! She did a wonderful job. The girls had a good time, and where very well behaved. We ventured out to Indian Hill in Newburgh. It was a great option. I couldn't be happier with how they all turned out. Thanks again Me'Chele!
