Homemade Detergent Project

I've been reading about a new trend of making your own laundry detergent at home, and finally felt brave enough to attempt it. The girls where just as excited about trying it as I was. They went to the store with me to pick up the products, and where a huge help in prepping everything. They are at such a fun age because they are interested in learning about everything. I just need to work on my patience in teaching them.

I am happy to announce that the product was a success, and I am really happy with how well it cleans. To buy all the products it cost about $7.50. I found all the items at my local Walmart. However, the products don't make just one batch. To date, I have made 6 gallons of detergent and still have a huge supply left. I haven't gotten technical enough to break everything down, but I'm guessing I could easily make 50 more gallons before having to buy more. The website I gathered my info from did break things down a little more than myself and determined that it cost less than .01 cent per load of laundry. Now that's what I'm talking about!

Missing in Action

Where, oh where, has my little tooth gone? Oh where, oh where could it be?

Kaylen woke up missing a tooth, and it's no where to be found. We all found it a bit funny and had a good laugh. On the plus side, this will probably be the easiest tooth she'll ever loose. She is a lot like her Mother in that she gets a little nervous when it comes to teeth.

She's growing up so fast. Everyday brings us something new.

The Mighty Megaphones!

For the first time this past Fall, the girls tried Cheerleading. They fell in love with it! So much so, that they decided to skip basketball this year and cheer for the teams instead. They are having a lot of fun with it. They are both such naturals. They love the pom-poms, megaphones, girlie uniforms, all of it. I'm happy to see them bonding with the other cheer mates and really being involved. They are always making up new cheers and practicing leg kicks and whatnot. Staying true to the Beard family line......they are the loudest girls on the squad! :)

Happy New Year 2012

I toast to another great year here in the Beard house! I can honestly say that I am really looking forward to whatever 2012 holds for us all. The girls are growing leaps and bounds lately, and astounding me with everything they are picking up on. They are quickly becoming young ladies, and I just want to enjoy every day, every minute, that I can with them. Lets face it, it feels like they are little forever.......until they are grown. I know I will one day look back on these days and wish I could relive them all over again. I hope you enjoy reading along with me as we experience the year ahead.
