Kids say the darndest things!

Last night we are hopping in the van after the church service, and the girls are starting to bicker about something that happened durring the childrens class. I was kind of just letting it go and letting them work it out on their own when Kaylen very calmly, very slowly said "Mom, are you SURE that it's too late for me to be an only child?"

Last night was a changing night for Kendall as well. She came to me before church and asked if she could have some pretzels. I almost teared up because she has ALWAYS called them prinsils. I'm actually really going to miss hearing 'prinsils'.

The girls and I had never been to Richards Pool before, so we were excited when we were invited to come along with a group of our friends. We spent several hours there, and the girls still weren't ready to leave. We were able to catch a group picture with everyone, except little Abigail. It was past nap time, and she got sunscreen in her eyes. It just wasn't a very happy time for her. The girls worked on diving to the bottom of the pool and doing handstands. The boys did cannonballs and made up handshakes. It was a great time!

Being Beautiful!

We got to spend time at the park for the Family Reunion and we couldn't help checking out some of its beauty. I have so much fun taking the girls' pictures, I just wish my camera, and my abilities did them justice.

Here are a few we took while walking the trail along the gorgeous creek.

It's 'Fair'ly Familiar

The girls had such a blast getting spoiled by Granny and Grandpa over the weekend. Among a long list of things, they got to go to the Owen County Fair on Saturday evening. When we arrived, they informed us that we were a day early, and the fair wasn't open for rides or booths just yet. They were still setting up all the ride equipment and making test runs. They girls were bummed, but took the news VERY well! While we were talking with the attendants, someone in charge came up and announced that all systems were good to go and if the girls wanted to ride the rides, they were welcome to do so. They gave them stamps on their hands and off they went.

A passing rain storm had gone through and really cooled the temperature, and there was a light breeze. We were basically the only ones there for a long time, so the girls never had to wait in line, and the workers pretty much doubled their ride times for them. They got brave and rode Zero Gravity. (This ride was called the Round-Up when I was a kid!) I was so sure that they would freak out that I secretly told the attendant to keep an eye on them in case he would need to stop the ride early. They had a blast.......it was ME who was wigging out!!!! I couldn't believe it. I was so nervous watching them ride this big ride all by themselves! Those are my babies! They loved it so much they rode it 4 times! Ahh!!!!

It was an awesome weekend. One that I'm sure they won't forget anytime soon!

Visiting Family

This weekend was the Scrogham Family annual reunion, this year was held at McCormicks Creek State Park. We took the entire weekend just to visit those we don't get to see often.

Grandma Hanson is always happy to see the girls. She always recognizes their faces, and always remembers that Kaylen is the oldest, but she has a difficult time with names. For someone with her diagnosis, she does an amazing job remembering! She has become a lot better about not repeating questions several times during our visits, but that may be in part because the girls' keep her mind busy from the moment we get there! They love dancing and cheerleading for her. She loves watching them, too!

Grandma Scrogham is having a more difficult time hearing, but never fails to tell us how much she thinks about us. My girls haven't had a whole lot of time with Grandma Scrogham, so pictures with her are pretty special.

The girls ALWAYS love going to Bloomington to stay with Granny and Grandpa. They were definitely spoiled this weekend! We had a blast eating at my favorite pizza place (Chicago's Pizza) and took some rare pictures with Granny making silly faces.

Calgon....Take Me Away!

You can barely see our shampoo's and soaps!

Bobby's idea of a relaxing bubble bath. Our tub is 6 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 2 foot deep. We're talking a whole lotta bubbles here!!!

Summer Reading

When it's too hot outside.....we read! Oakdale offers their library every Wednesday morning through the summer for the kids to come and enjoy reading, and also take more AR Tests to keep their minds fresh. Today is definitely a hot one, so we took part of the indoor activity. The girls were so excited to see Mrs. Volz again, too!

A fun surprise for us, they have a door prize drawing each Wednesday. Our first trip there and Kaylen was the big winner! She won ice-cream shaped sidewalk chalk, a jump-rope, and a twirly wand. She couldn't wait to get home to draw on the concrete with the chalk, even though it's almost 100 degrees outside!

Kendall was able to take 2 tests while we were there and scored 100% on both of them. Kaylen took 1 test, and scored 100% on it as well. I'm so proud of them both. They are very smart, very enthusiastic little girls.
